With around 150 weddings under our belts for this year’s wedding season, it is safe to say we have had a busy year so far! We have seen some exciting new venues being launched this year, including Tyne Bank Brewery in Byker and Egton Manor in Whitby – couples around the North East have plenty of choice for venues to suit their style and budget. We catered our final postponed covid booking this year, as some couples decided to postpone from 2020 to 2023!
Our favourite wedding of 2023 has to be Izzy & Dom’s wedding in June, where the couple had exclusive use of Newcastle Cathedral for both their ceremony and the reception, where we provided a three course meal for 182 guests. The cathedral is not usually available for wedding receptions, so this was extra special to see this cathedral dressed for a wedding. The couple’s vision for their wedding breakfast was ‘fake nandos’ for their main course which we delivered as part of our bespoke service. Their wedding was even featured in Living North magazine!
We catered our final wedding at St Mary’s Heritage Centre in Gateshead this month as it has now been taken over by new operators – having been a recommended caterer at this stunning converted church venue overlooking the quayside in Newcastle we are very sad to see it no longer be operating as an events space, but hopefully one day it may start up again for private hire.
Jacob & Tori Caterers have become a recommended supplier for Tyne & Wear Archives & Museums this year, catering at their spaces at the Laing Art Gallery, Hancock Museum and the stunning space at the Great Hall in the Discovery Museum. Corporate dinners for up to 500 guests have been a popular trend at this venue.
Sharing style menus have been very popular this year, especially for client’s wanting a relaxed, rustic style feel to their day but also keeping the structure of having a seated meal. We have added some exciting new sharing options to our menus, including a land & sea sharing starter, Lebanese style main course and delicious tapas options.
We have received some wonderful testimonials from our couples this year, our favorites featured below!
Please could you pass on our thanks to your brilliant team for all their hard work at Howick last Tuesday. The food was delicious, plentiful and beautifully presented – everyone commented on what a good meal it was. It was exactly what Josie and Archie had in mind and you very much helped to make it a joyous occasion. Your staff were all efficient and helpful and an especially big thank you to Glen who kept things moving smoothly throughout the afternoon. I would not hesitate to recommend your business and hope that you deservedly go from strength to strength.
Caroline & Jon – Howick Hall
We cannot thank you all enough for your hard work for our wedding last weekend. We have had so many comments from friends and family over the food and the whole catering service. The canapés were delicious mouthfuls, wetting appetites for the main course (where the lamb shank just fell off the bone!) and of course our delicious trio of desserts. The evening food was just as amazing as the rest of the day’s food and exactly what was needed mid ceilidh! You catered for a wide range of dietary requirements without hesitation and your communication has been excellent. The whole team was professional and friendly and we can’t thank you all enough.
Mr & Mrs Biggers – Marquee Wedding in Morpeth
All of the food on the wedding day was perfect, right from the canapés to the pizza on the evening. All of our guests commented on how nice the food was and your team who were serving were also excellent and made sure everyone had what they needed. Thank you for excellent service throughout and all your thorough correspondence leading up to the day also.
Katie – Bride – Wedding at Thief Hall
All of our team are already looking forward to 2024 as this season comes to a close, we have some new chef recruits ready to start in Spring 2024 which will further strengthen our kitchen team. We have a very exciting corporate event in June 2024 for around 1000 people, providing a three course meal in a marquee in Northumberland.
